June is HIV Testing Month and the National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) is an annual campaign produced by the National Association of People Living with AIDS (NAPWA-US) to encourage at-risk individuals to receive counseling and get tested. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services supports the National HIV Testing Day.
In observance of this day, thousands of HIV counseling and testing sites, state and local health departments, and community-based HIV/AIDS service providers will participate in HNTD events, by holding health fairs, providing community and media outreach, hosting special testing-related events or operating extended hours.
For more information on HIV testing, or to find a location near your area, visit www.hivtest.org, a service provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
