"Vision"

The vision of the Black Catholic Convocation Implementation Committee is to be a catalyst for transformational change within the Black Catholic community of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Serving as an effective partner with the community and the wider Catholic Church, we will provide assistance and resources to our parishes and schools as they become more stable and vibrant centers of faith and education, where the mission of Jesus is furthered. In this way, the gifts of the Black Catholic community to the church and to the city of Chicago will be more fully appreciated, celebrated, integrated and supported.

"Mission"

The mission of the Black Catholic Convocation Implementation Committee is to assist parishes and schools in the Black community of the Archdiocese of Chicago to develop strategies and tactics for transformational change, based on the recommendations of the Black Catholic Convocation concerning Evangelization, Vocations, Tithing, Youth, Parishes and Schools. In so doing, we will strengthen the entire Church of Chicago.

"Values"

We believe that by becoming more vibrant, stable and fiscally sound centers of faith, evangelization, education and life, the Black Catholic community will grow and become a more integral part of the Church of Chicago. We believe that the work begun by the Black Catholic Convocation and continued by the Implementation Committee will foster greater communication, cooperation and collaboration among Black Catholics and throughout the Church of Chicago.

"Goals"

The goals of the Black Catholic Convocation Implementation Committee are:

• To lead the work of the task forces on Evangelization, Vocations, Tithing, Parishes, Schools and Youth Ministry in collaboration with our pastors and with appropriate Archdiocese offices.

• To provide resources and assistance to Black Catholic parishes and schools as they implement appropriate exchange and programs related to the Black Convocation.

• To assist the vicars, pastors and the Archbishop in their efforts to recognize, celebrate, integrate and support the gifts of the Black Catholic community throughout the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
